Hi Aki. Could you tell us what you do on a day-to-day basis?
My daily work mainly consists of leading and carrying out terrain design work. Customer cooperation is also an integral part of my work. Terrain planning is currently undergoing major technological transformation, and my work involves developing new operating models and managing change.
What do you enjoy most in your job?
I really enjoy the challenges and how quickly my area is changing. In particular, I like testing new technologies and solutions that can streamline our terrain planning processes – such as drone mapping solutions.
How is Eltel as an employer?
Working at Eltel has been a very positive experience for me. I think the company supports personal development and listens to its employees. Everyone has the opportunity to develop their role and share good practice with others. Such a large company also offers a variety of career opportunities.
Can you tell us what you are working on now?
As a Terrain Planning Manager in Kajaani region, central Finland, I manage Eltel fieldwork planning and resource allocation together with the regional management team. In 2019, I have worked on a drone mapping pilot study to demonstrate the benefits of using drone mapping for infranet planning.
What are your future hopes?
I would like to continue to work in a positive work environment with work that really makes a difference to Eltel and society. Drone mapping has huge potential for the planning of infranets in Finland and Eltel’s other markets.
