Towards a smarter society
Smart meters enable you to make energy savings, ensure more accurate bills and avoid the need for manual meter readings.
“The smart meters we installed in Norway have displays to allow people to monitor their energy use in kWh, and a web platform converts their energy use into Norwegian Kroner to help identify potential savings in their home,” explains Jan Nørmark, Senior Project Manager on two of Eltel’s Norwegian smart meter installation projects.
Enabling everyone to play their part
We all know it’s important to save energy. Using less energy is not only good for the environment but can also lower our household bills. Smart meters can enable everyone to play their part by helping to identify potential energy savings in our homes and businesses.
Over five million installations and counting
Eltel led four major contracts in Norway between 2015 and 2019 to install more than 1,000,000 smart meters for 11 different Power grid companies, mainly in the south-east and west of the country. Eltel is the leading smart meter service company in the Nordics with over 5,000,000 smart meters installed in the region since 2008.
“With the projects in Norway completed, we are now bidding for and preparing roll-out projects in Sweden,” explains Nørmark. “Our goal is to continue to contribute towards a smarter society in the Nordics.”
