Eltel Power Transmission wins a 380 kV substation contract in Germany
The 380/110 kV substation will be built in North-West Brandenburg, a region characterized by the ongoing installation of wind farms. Due to the installation of these plants (acc. German renewable energies law EEG) in the 110 kV network region North of the distribution system operator E.DIS a new 380/110 kV grid connection point will be needed in the region Perleberg – Wittstock to absorb the generated power and to reduce the loading of the existing 110 kV network.
50Hertz Transmission GmbH is one of the four transmission system operators in Germany, operating the 380 kV and 220 kV grids in the eastern part of the country and in the Hamburg area. With their investments in the grid reinforcement and expansion both onshore and offshore 50Hertz Transmission GmbH is strongly contributing to the realization of necessary measures in connection with the German Energiewende.
Eltel´s Business Unit Power Transmission established only recently a High Voltage Substation Department in Dresden, consisting of highly qualified employees with long experience in the delivery of 110 to 380 kV substations in the German market. Eltel is the recognized market leader in Northern part of Europe with a comprehensive experience in power, communications and transport and defence segments. The company has the biggest independent high voltage systems design office in Europe in the city of Krakow. The first order in Germany is a great success for the company in the growing power markets of Europe, and it shows the confidence 50Hertz Transmission GmbH has in Eltel´s capabilities.
